I
am currently working with Dr. James Ahrens in LANL as a Staff
Scientist
where we need to
interact with scientists from geological, material, physical sciences
to provide visualization solutions to their domain specific problems. I
was previously a postdoctorate researcher in LANL for one year. My
current research goals primarily focus on feature-retention of very
large-scale data while achieving best data reduction. Our focus is on
analyzing and modeling the data data "in situ", i.e., when the
large-scale scientific data is still available on supercomputer memory.
I am also working on projects that use machine learning for solving
large-data and complext material science data. I am handling sampling
as part of Exascale Computing Project under ALPINE sub-project. I am a
co-pi for LANL sponsored research and development effort, managing
insitu inference project, $1.62M/year, for 3 years. While pursuing my PhD, I was working with Prof. Han-Wei Shen in the field of Graphics and Data Visualization. I worked with flow field data and particle tracing using streamlines and stream surfaces. I also looked at the time-varying multivariate data exploration and using information theory to provide critical insights into the data. I also worked with turbulent flow structures and vortex visualization for the unstable time-varying complex flows.
